FREE Exercise Program E-Books For (Breast) Cancer Treatment & Recovery

Exercise Guide To Cancer Treatments & Recovery BooksNumerous studies have examined the role of physical activity and exercise during and following cancer treatment, yet exercise is not generally incorporated into cancer care or discussed with cancer patients. Significant reductions in physical activity have been observed in women diagnosed with breast cancer. The evidence suggests patients should be encouraged to exercise after being diagnosed with cancer. To get you started we have included 2 FREE E-books to help you begin an exercise program.

The aim of this booklet is to teach you a simple exercise programme and give you advice about staying active and improving your fitness. This will help you to improve your quality of life during and after treatment for cancer.
During chemotherapy and radiotherapy many people have muscle weakness, stiffness and fatigue because of their cancer or from the treatment.
The fatigue can be severe and limits activity. Inactivity leads to muscle wasting and loss of function.
When you are in hospital, wearing your own clothes may help you to feel more ‘normal’ and add to your general well-being. It is also a good idea to sit out of bed as often as possible and try to take short walks during the day. This can help with your breathing, blood pressure, digestion, core stability and mood.

Exercise After Beast Surgery-A guide for women
This guide is for women who have had surgery for breast cancer.Breast cancer is mainly a disease in women, but each year a small number of men are also diagnosed with the disease. We often refer to women in the text, but men who have had surgery for breast cancer may find the information in this booklet helpful.

Exercise is an important part of your treatment and recovery after surgery for breast cancer. It can help you:
  • begin your daily activities again (such as bathing and dressing)
  • maintain movement in your arm and shoulder
  • improve muscle tone
  • decrease joint stiffness
  • reduce pain in the neck and back area
  • improve your overall well-being
Everyone is different and heals at their own pace. Talk to your doctor or another member of your healthcare team before starting the exercises in this booklet, and let them know about your progress. The timelines suggested are only to guide you. Some exercises can be started right after surgery. Exercises that involve moving your shoulders and arms can usually be started once you’ve had your drain removed. Strengthening and general conditioning exercises can be added to your routine when you’ve healed more.

Introduction to Alternative Cancer Treatments – FREE E-Book

Natural Cancer Remedies With CancerTutor.comWritten by Webster Kehr, Independent Cancer Research Foundation, Inc. | Last updated on February 25, 2015.

Preface

Every human being has cancer cells in their body. Most people don’t even know they have cancer cells because their immune system safely and easily kills their cancer cells as they form. In fact, as long as there is a balance between the number of new cancer cells in their body, and the strength of their immune system, they will never “get cancer,” meaning the cancer cells will never grow out of control.

Cancer is caused by an imbalance between the number of cancer cells in the body and the strength of the immune system. Either there are more cancer cells than there should be or the immune system is too weak, or both. This imbalance allows the cancer cells to spread enough to be noticed and be dangerous.

Natural cancer treatments, also known as “alternative cancer treatments,” do three things:

  1. they safely get rid of cancer cells by gently killing the cancer cells.
  2. they strengthen the immune system.
  3. they fix the “inner terrain” of the body to make the body hostile to cancer cells.

Mission accomplished, the person has their balance restored and they are “cured” of their cancer.

These people have received good information and they have been cured of their cancer.

Now let us talk about the orthodox cancer treatments of chemotherapy, radiation and surgery.

Chemotherapy destroys a person’s immune system because the immune system has many fast-growing cells. Chemotherapy also kills many fast-growing cells in the stomach and colon, making it difficult for the cancer patient to properly digest healthy foods.

Furthermore, chemotherapy is so toxic that if a person used enough chemotherapy to kill all of their cancer cells, the patient would die long before all of their cancer cells died.

Thus, chemotherapy makes both sides of the equation worse. Not only is the immune system damaged, but there are lots of cancer cells left over after treatment. The person becomes dependent on chemotherapy for life because they have no immune system; assuming they live very long.

One of the great deceptions of orthodox medicine is that they can put people into “remission.” You can rest assured when a person’s immune system has been destroyed, and many, many cancer cells have survived the treatment, a cancer patient can never be truly in “remission.” Their cancer will always come back because the balance has not been restored.

In addition, radiation and surgery also kill many healthy cells, meaning non-cancerous cells. Surgery is also hard on the immune system.

In short, orthodox cancer treatments convert a cancer patient (for as long as they live) into a patient with a chronic disease.

Orthodox medicine hates the term “cure” because they have no desire to “cure” cancer by restoring the balance between new cancer cells and the immune system.

All of this is why alternative cancer treatments can have a 30 times higher true cure rate than orthodox cancer treatments. Alternative cancer treatments TARGET cancer cells or they do no harm to non-cancerous cells. Thus, alternative cancer treatments can be used in much, much higher doses than orthodox cancer treatments and thus they can be far more effective.

Mother Nature knows how to CURE cancer (i.e. restore the balance)!! In fact, Mother Nature has put more than 400 different ways to cure cancer on this planet!!

That is precisely why many people have no fear of cancer. They know exactly what to do if they get cancer.

In fact, scientific studies have shown that a person who does nothing will live much longer than a person who uses orthodox cancer treatments. Yet medical doctors are constantly telling patients that “with chemotherapy you will live 4 months longer.” This is typical of unscientific statements made by medical doctors.

In addition, two-time Nobel Prize winner Linus Pauling, PhD, and Dr. Ewan Cameron, M.D., demonstrated that a person who uses 10 grams of vitamin C a day, by I.V., will live ten times longer than a person who avoids all orthodox cancer treatments (though orthodox treatments are occasionally necessary to deal with emergencies, such as brain swelling or tumors pressing on the bile duct, etc.).

But there are far better alternative cancer treatments than even the Vitamin C protocol of Dr. Pauling and Dr. Cameron.

Thus, newly diagnosed cancer patients have several choices when they are diagnosed with cancer:

  • They can die quickly, be in incredible pain, and go bankrupt, by using orthodox treatments,
  • They can live longer and be in less pain by doing nothing,
  • They can extend their life by 10 times or more by using 10 grams of vitamin C by I.V. daily,
  • They can cure their cancer by rebuilding their immune system and safely killing all their cancer cells.

It is people who know all of these things who have no fear of cancer!!

So why haven’t you learned all of these things in the media? Why hasn’t the media ever told the truth about these 400 cures for cancer? Perhaps it is because the media makes billions of dollars every year for their alliance with the pharmaceutical industry!! Few people connect the dots and realize that the pharmaceutical ad money buys a lot of influence with the media!! In fact, the truth about alternative cancer treatments is totally blacklisted by the media!!

This discussion about information explains why, in spite of the vast superiority of alternative cancer treatments, more than 99% of newly diagnosed cancer patients begin their cancer treatment with orthodox cancer treatments!!!

Curing cancer with alternative cancer treatments is fairly easy for those who are recently diagnosed and do not have a particularly vicious type of cancer. It must be kept in mind, however, that cancer can be relentless, so the cancer should never be taken lightly!

Cancer patients who have had extensive chemotherapy, radiation and surgery, on the other hand, not only have a great deal of physical damage, a damaged immune system and many cancer cells, but they have lost many months of treatment time. Plus it probably took them weeks of Internet research to find a quality website on alternative cancer treatments.

Can alternative cancer treatments cure someone who has already had massive amounts of orthodox cancer treatments? While not everyone can survive their cancer, many people have cured their cancer with alternative cancer treatments after being sent home to die by orthodox medicine (Note: Over 15% of cancer patients who die of cancer are still on chemotherapy at the time they die, thus they are never sent home to die. This percentage will no doubt grow.).

Books to Help Cancer Patients: Empower Yourself by Becoming Your Own Medical Advocate

Books To Help Cancer PatientsBy Margot Malin, CEO and Founder of Lots To Live For, Inc.

When faced with a cancer diagnosis it is important to become an educated patient. Learn what your options are, and help participate in your treatment decision making. Taking control can give you more confidence and make the process less scary. You are your own best medical advocate. In this blog piece we list several books that have been highly recommended by both cancer coaches and cancer patients.

Radical Remission- Surviving Cancer Against All OddsRadical Remission: Surviving Cancer Against All Odds by Dr. Kelly Turner
In her New York Times bestseller, Radical Remission: Surviving Cancer Against All Odds,  Dr. Kelly A. Turner, founder of the Radical Remission Project, uncovers nine factors that can lead to a spontaneous remission from cancer—even after conventional medicine has failed.

While getting her Ph.D. at the University of California, Berkley, Dr. Turner, a researcher, lecturer, and counselor in integrative oncology, was shocked to discover that no one was studying episodes of radical (or unexpected) remission—when people recover against all odds without the help of conventional medicine, or after conventional medicine has failed.  She was so fascinated by this kind of remission that she embarked on a ten month trip around the world, traveling to ten different countries to interview fifty holistic healers and twenty radical remission cancer survivors about their healing practices and techniques. Her research continued by interviewing over 100 Radical Remission survivors and studying over 1000 of these cases.  Her evidence presents nine common themes that she believes may help even terminal patients turn their lives around.

Radical Remission: Surviving Cancer Against All Odds has been highly recommended by numerous integrative medicine practitioners, cancer patients, cancer coaches  on blogs and on Linkedin posts. Click HERE for more information.

Cancer 50 Essential Things to Do 2013-Edition-195x300Cancer: 50 Essential Things to Do by Greg Anderson
Revised and updated for the first time since 1999, this invaluable guide to cancer recovery offers an easily accessible plan for patients and family members. Written by a cancer survivor, the book is an inspiring, action-oriented roadmap for those who choose to adopt a stance of hope and take charge of their diagnosis.

With penetrating insights that bring together more than two decades of scientifically supported research and experience, Anderson reveals a step-by-step holistic action plan that has been successfully employed by hundreds of thousands of cancer patients worldwide. Anderson’s message is: “You must not simply treat illness, you must also create wellness: physically, emotionally and spiritually.”  Click HERE for more information.

Own Your CancerOwn Your Cancer: A Take Charge Guide For The Recently Diagnosed And Those Who Love Them, by Dr. Peter Edelstein

A must have book for taking charge of the medical aspects of treatment. Dr. Peter Edelstein has learned by listening to his patients and their families–whose lives have suddenly been up-ended by a diagnosis of cancer–that they need a partner to help them navigate their new, complex world. It is critical that cancer patients take charge of their health and “own their cancer” in order to remain in control of this confusing and frightening process. This extremely accessible book is that expert partner, offering a combination of crucial medical education clearly and comfortably explained along with personal guidance gleaned from real patient experiences. In an informed, compassionate, and respectful manner, “Dr. E” translates the challenging medical and psychological issues facing the cancer patient into lay terms, as well as outlining options for “owning” the path ahead. The result empowers patients and their loved ones to take control of their treatment regardless of cancer type or stage, to maintain their independence, and to oversee the processes which will determine their ultimate survival and quality of life. Life Over Cancer- The Block Center Program for Integrative Cancer TreatmentLife Over Cancer: The Block Center Program for Integrative Cancer Treatment, by Dr. Keith Block

Dr. Keith Block is at the global vanguard of innovative cancer care. As medical director of the Block Center for Integrative Cancer Treatment in Evanston, Illinois, he has treated thousands of patients who have lived long, full lives beyond their original prognoses. Now he has distilled almost thirty years of experience into the first book that gives patients a systematic, research-based plan for developing the physical and emotional vitality they need to meet the demands of treatment and recovery.

Based on a profound understanding of how body and mind can work together to defeat disease, this groundbreaking book offers:

  • Innovative approaches to conventional treatments, such as “chronotherapy”–chemotherapy timed to patients’ unique circadian rhythms for enhanced effectiveness and reduced toxicity
  • Dietary choices that make the biochemical environment hostile to cancer growth and recurrence, and strengthen the immune system’s ability to attack remaining cancer cells
  • Precise supplement protocols to tame treatment side effects, relieve disease-related symptoms, and modify processes like inflammation and glycemia that can fuel cancer if left untreated
  • A new paradigm for exercise and stress reduction that restores your strength, reduces anxiety and depression, and supports the body’s own ability to heal
  •
A complete program for remission maintenance–a proactive plan to make sure the cancer never returns

Also included are “quick-start” maps to help you find the information you need right now and many case histories that will support and inspire you. Encouraging, compassionate, and authoritative,  Life over Cancer is the guide patients everywhere have been waiting for.

What You Dont Know Can Kill YouWhat You Don’t Know Can Kill You: A Physician’s Radical Guide to Conquering the Obstacles to Excellent Medical Care, by Dr. Laura Nathanson

In 2003, Dr. Laura Nathanson was widowed after the misdiagnosis of her beloved husband. After this tragedy, she was determined to help others protect themselves and their loved ones from similarly preventable health care disasters—and help them benefit from health care miracles. In What You Don’t Know Can Kill You, Dr. Nathanson provides a guide to getting the best medical care and navigating our frustrating and often impenetrable health care system. In clear, non-medical language, she shows how to:

  • Flag any signs of misdiagnosis and misleading analysis of symptoms
  • Prevent miscommunication among specialists from having dire consequences
  • Stay safe in the hospital and bypass its dangers
  • Choose a health care plan without falling into the “uncovered services” trap

Full of empathy for each individual patient and caregiver, What You Don’t Know Can Kill You will empower patients to be their own best advocates.

We believe that the best informed patients make the best patients. Cancer Coaches and Oncology Nurse Navigators can help to further educate cancer patients. To read more about what a cancer coach does, click HERE. To read about Oncology Nurse Navigators, click HERE. As our friend Elyn Jacobs, Cancer Coach likes to say “If you don’t know your options, you don’t have any”.

We hope that these books will help educate you, and encourage you to take control and be proactive on your cancer journey.

Personal Breast Cancer Story

I found the lump on my own and by accident.  I went immediately to my primary doctor, which started the process of a mammogram, biopsy, MRI, and numerous other tests.  I was healthy and had no risk factors or family history and was diagnosed with breast cancer on my 39th birthday. I was ER/PR positive, HER2 negative. I had a lumpectomy on my right breast. The artist formerly known as the tumor was 1.3 cm. I had four rounds of chemo – taxotere and cytoxin. I had 36 radiation sessions. I’m on 5 years of tamoxifen. I have three amazing doctors: a surgeon, a medical oncologist, and a radiation oncologist.  Plus numerous specialists.

My last treatment was on March 21, 2011 and our wedding was 10 days later on March 31, 2011.  I’m still recovering, both inside and out.

Breast Cancer Diagnosis – Common Challenges For Partners

Breast Cancer - Challenges For Partners

The following article comes from Breast Cancer Network Australia’s Wish I Could Fix It  booklet, one of the many free, helpful and informative booklets offered by BCNA.

We know that a breast cancer diagnosis can significantly affect partners. Women often tell us that they feel shock, disbelief, fear and uncertainty. As the partner of a woman diagnosed, your feelings can be similar. It’s normal for partners to feel overwhelmed and to experience a whole range of emotions: shock, numbness, uncertainty, fear, helplessness, sadness, anger, depression or anxiety.

Following are some of the common challenges you may face, and tips from other partners that may help you cope with these challenges.

We found taking things back to basics helped, for example, finding our love and remembering why we are together. We went on dates and on the good days during chemo we made plans to take full advantage of Liz being well. – Scott

Common challenges for partners

  • Not being able to fix the situation Both you and your partner will probably feel distressed about her diagnosis
  • However, after a woman starts her treatment she will often feel a bit better because she is doing something. You, on the other hand, may feel like you are unable to do anything and this may leave you feeling frustrated. It can be especially hard if you are the type of person who likes to fix things.

As a man, when something is broken you immediately want to fix it, but when it comes to the most precious thing in your life, your partner, you can’t, and that’s very distressing. –  Jacques

Things that may help

  • Going to medical appointments with your partner with a list of questions and writing notes that you and your partner can read later. Prioritize your list so the most important questions are at the top, in case you run out of time.
  • Reading about breast cancer with your partner.
  • Asking your partner what you can do to help her. Suggest she write a list for you. The list can include things such as driving her to appointments, or just listening to her when she needs to talk.

My partner drove me to appointments and took notes. He arranged for the house to be cleaned and walked the dog. – Christy

I would encourage Ann to make each treatment decision based on the information she had. Seeing Ann exercising her will by choosing to confront her future choices was empowering for her. – Andrew

Feeling like you have to be strong for her

  • Partners tell us they often find it hard to know what to say, and some think that they need to always stay strong and ‘put on a brave face’.
  • Saying things like ‘you’ll be fine’ or ‘try to keep positive’ may not be helpful. They may actually make it harder for your partner to talk to you about how she really feels.

Men try to be supermen, but you realize in this circumstance you can’t be.You have to sit back after a while and just be Clark Kent. – Steve

There is a huge expectation on our partners that they have to stay positive, and my husband was overwhelmed sometimes. – Kylie

Things that may help

  • Listening to your partner and letting her talk about her fears and hopes for the future. This will help her feel she is being heard and understood.
  • Talking to your partner about how you are feeling.

Things to avoid

  • Feeling like you need to fix the situation – women often just want someone to listen.
  • Saying things like ‘be positive’, ‘keep your chin up’ or ‘you’ll be fine’.

Jane wants more of my emotional support – something that I find hard to do but something I am slowly starting to learn. – Clive

My husband gave me lots of cuddles and reassured me I was still beautiful. He filtered the phone calls when I didn’t want to talk. He drove me to doctors’ visits, hospital and treatments and stayed with me. This was good because you feel a bit vulnerable and you don’t always take in all the information. – Tonya
